Dressing Your Home For Summer Holidays

When summer approaches, your mind turns to flip flops and tank tops, long days and warm nights. Just as you switch out your wardrobe for warmer months, you can do the same for your home. Patriotic bunting is a wonderful way to dress your home in the colors and themes of summer.

Memorial Day kicks off the summer and celebrates and remembers the men and women who died in service to their country. It started to remember soldiers who died fighting the Civil War and is usually marked by decorating the graves of service men and women. Show you remember by dressing your home in the red, white, and blue.

While Independence Day is the first holiday that comes to mind when you think of patriotism, don’t forget about Flag Day, either.  Flag Day was established in 1916 to celebrate the history and meaning of the flag. The flag is a symbol that stirs the hearts of citizens from children to veterans. Kick off the hot summer months by decorating your home in patriotic bunting to celebrate Flag Day on June 14.

The 4th of July is the pinnacle of summer celebrations and celebrates the official adoption of the Declaration of Independence. Fireworks, parades, and barbecues are all ways to celebrate. Whether you spend it grilling with family and friends, at a concert in the park, or splashing around at the beach or pool, coming home to a beautifully decorated house satisfies your civic pride as well as your pride in your home. Make your home the envy of the block by decorating windows and doors with beautiful, high-quality bunting in the colors of the flag.

For a classic look that will last year after year, invest in high-quality patriotic bunting, in classic styles that stand the test of time and of course, made in the USA. By spending a little more up front, you can even leave those decorations up rain or shine, year after year. For more information, please visit www.independence-bunting.com.

Pleated Fans for American and Other Holidays

Pleated fans, aka flag bunting, have been in use as far back as the 17th century. They are a time-honored decoration when it comes to celebrating American holidays or just for showing one’s love for country and democracy. Traditionally, flag bunting has been used for holidays like Independence Day and Veterans Day to commemorate the nation’s birth and those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service of their country.

Flag bunting comes in many varieties. The common design contains the typical stars and stripes pattern, though there are many others that are used in observance of specific occasions. There are, for instance, those that come in a uniform pink color for raising breast cancer awareness. Some also come in a digital camouflage pattern similar to the action combat uniform worn by military personnel. There are even those used for particular holidays. A green, orange, and white bunting, for instance, is used by pubs and other similar establishments for observing St. Patrick’s Day or other Irish-related events. Likewise, a green and red bunting can serve as part of the overall decorations when decorating the home for Christmas.

There are plenty of ways that flag bunting can be used. They are commonly hung over a fence or below the window outside a home. They can also be hung on a stage or podium for a city-sponsored event featuring performances or speakers. Even though they are used for one-time events, keep in mind that they can also serve as everyday home décor. If you have a family member serving overseas, for example, then you can hang one alongside the American flag to show your support for the country that your loved one is fighting for.

If you are decorating your home or other venue for an upcoming event, then consider using flag bunting. Contrary to popular belief, flag bunting is not limited to patriotic-themed activities. Their use serves as decoration but also as a symbol of the theme of the celebration or event.
